The birds are sensing it too and getting restless. It feels colder at night somewhat though warmer in the middle of the day. I've got the central heating on for less time just because of the longer daylight hours rather than warmer weather. The sun streaming in through the south east facing windows warms my flat up even though it may be cold outside.

Spring my arse!

I'm out working in this cold weather & that wind is bitter...the sun is lovely though. I swear I'm not built for this climate

Spring is cold. Just, it's a bit lighter than winter. The sea's at its coldest in the spring.

Which, Lunch, is exactly why it's an excellent time of year to gather around a warm BBQ!

There is nothing, abolutely nothing, half so worth doing as simply messing around in boats

It's also at it's warmest in autumn. Those taking Boxing Day swims aren't as masochistic as was first thought especially as they train from September onwards.

I've hated those late coming springs when it's rained non stop with lots of wind and then suddenly it's a mild dry calm day albeit with no sun. At least we're seeing some sunshine though the wind has returned again.

Oh wow! An ice cream van. The first one of the season that I have heard of. What did the chimes play Confused? Greensleeves is V.Popular in these parts.

I hate the sound of ice cream vans. There was one that went around my area on Tuesday afternoons all year round and you could hear it from a mile away. I had a job a mile from home for a few months and I could hear it then and it reminded me of not working.

There's one that hangs about outside the small Lunchistas' school every bloody afternoon at knocking-off time playing Greensleeves, trying to get the kids on drugs (see post about sugar on things-to-make-you-paranoid). Come to think of it it probably sells actual drugs and all...like the ice-cream vans in the notorious Morecambe ice-cream wars of the 1970s...
