I had the same thing with Daisy. Apart from her medical problems I could tell she was just old and tired. She looked very sad this last week or so.

It's hard though, seeing them like that.

Yes with cats you just seem to know. Fourteen is quite old really... We had so many of them years ago: mostly strays. Hey well, your pets sound well looked after.

I've said it before, but I miss having a cat very much.

I think its sad when the end comes, doesnt matter how much you prepare yourself, it always hurts more than you think it will, but I also think the pain is a reflection of the affection that you shared with a pet, animals give genuine friendship, no hidden meanings, they cant lie, and they are always by your side no matter what.

all us pet "owners"(I use that word lightly (nobody owns a cat)) know how you feel, and your sadness is ours.

Of course we don't know what we are doing!!
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called "research" would it?".....

Oscar's 14. And now very very slow. He's still eating well, but I can feel his backbone (and never have before), he can't jump, and he spends most of the day in one position.

This is why I try to avoid going to the doctor.

I saw a rabbit that looked like Amos Brearly from Emmerdale.

Honestly, it had a whiskery face and the same facial expression as this man.

Does this mean you are out shopping for a new rabbit? Perhaps you could find one that reminds you Chinny?

Sounds like a great pet! Expensive to keep, though, if it drinks Strongbow instead of water.
